What's in store
Can I purchase items online?
We only sell merchandise through our stores. We receive thousands of items daily and do not use an inventory system so we are unable to track specific merchandise availability. Because of the frequency and turnaround of items, your best chance is to visit your local store regularly.
Can I exchange my items?
Here is our exchange policy:
Clothing, accessories and small household items may be exchanged within 7 days of purchase provided the item has the original tags attached, and the customer has a receipt of purchase. The exchange must take place on the same day for the dollar value paid for the original item. It is at the discretion of store management to issue a 7 day extension if the customer cannot find items of like value to exchange (may occur with a larger dollar amount purchase), but is an exception. We do not provide cash refunds. If an item was purchased at a discounted price, the dollar amount spent is eligible for exchange only - not the original price of the item.
All sales final on select items including furniture, other large items (such as sporting equipment), computers, computer accessories, books, music and videos.

I saw a great item in your recent advertising - where can I get that item?
Due to the unique nature of the items we receive, what you saw was most likely a one-of-a-kind item. We receive thousands of unique treasures daily and do not use an inventory system so we are unable to track specific merchandise availability. Because of the frequency and turnaround of items, your best chance is to visit your local store regularly.
Can I put some items in your store on consignment?
We do not sell on consignment.
Who we are
Who owns Savers/Value Village? Are you publicly traded? What is your stock symbol?
We are a privately held company with two primary owners, the son of our founder and a private equity firm located in New York/Los Angeles.
Can I invest in Savers/Value Village or buy a franchise?
We own and operate all of our stores and do not offer franchise opportunities.
I don't see stores in every U.S. state -- why can't I find my local Value Village?
We only operate as Value Village in Washington, Oregon and Alaska in the United States. We operate as Savers in the other U.S. states. We are not in all 50 states. We also operate as Value Village in all Canadian Provinces. We are Village des Valeurs in Quebec. Our stores in Australia are Savers.
There are many thrift stores in the U.S. that go by Value Village and they are not all related to our chain - only those in Washington, Oregon and Alaska.
Looking for the store nearest you? Want an address, phone number, or hours of the store nearest you? Please check out our store locator for this information.

Now hiring
I see that you are opening a store in my city. How can I apply for a job?
Visit the store for hiring fair information. You may also submit an application on line by clicking on the Careers link, or print and fill out an application and take it directly to the store where you'd like to apply.
Donating
I have some large items that I don't need anymore and I'd like to donate them. Will you come pick them up?
We do not provide pick up service but if you check out how to donate, you will find information about the nonprofit closest to you and can arrange pick up directly through them.
I have several bags of things to donate - when can I bring my items to your stores? Can I bring them to any Savers/Value Village? Do I need to make an appointment?
We will gladly accept your donation at any of our locations during regular business hours (see store locator) - no appointment is necessary.
What percentage of your profits are paid to the non profit organizations?
We contract with various local non profit organizations to purchase goods from them in bulk. The details of those contracts are confidential, but when we negotiate our rates, we assure that they cover the cost the non profits incur to solicit, pick up and deliver goods as well as enough extra to help fund their vital community programs.
I had a scheduled pick up and no one showed up.
Click on the Nonprofit Alliances link to find information about the non profit that contacted you. Check to be sure you are located in a state where we do business and keep in mind that we are a for profit organization and do not solicit. If you received a call from a Value Village for a donation, it is not related to our chain.
Can I get a receipt for my donation?
When you donate at our stores, make sure to ask one of our associates for a tax receipt. We provide tax receipts on behalf of our nonprofit alliances. If you had a pick up at your home and did not get a receipt, click on the Nonprofit Alliances link to find information about the nonprofit that contacted you. You would need to contact them directly for a receipt.
Canadian donors: Used items donated in Canada are not tax deductible.
